17 August 2018
The second Industry Partners’ Appreciation Night held on 17 August was a big success. Our Job Shadowing partners from 19 different organisations attended the event. More than 50 guests enjoyed networking with people from similar and other fields, interacting with students and just chilling out in a very casual atmosphere.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from our Year 6 students, Amanda Yasmin Lam and Nathaniel Marthen who had completed their job shadowing stint in June. This was followed by an opening speech from our Principal, Mr Rob Burrough, and a summary of the Job Shadowing Scheme from Mrs Rita Kaur, the Head of Higher Education and Careers.
The Higher Education and Careers team had submitted an excellent report card for this year’s Job Shadowing placement. 65 students went for the placement this year, an additional of 33 students as compared with last year – an increase of 103%.
To show appreciation to our industry partners in nurturing and grooming our students, Mr Rob Burrough presented awards to all our industry partners.
“ It was great being able to hear the insights of some of the student participants as well as get to know some of the other industry partners through the event. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the ACS (International) team for putting together this successful programme and event! ”

“ First and foremost, let me applaud the great efforts by your team in putting up this amazing event. This is made all the more meaningful with the sharing session by the students about their job shadowing experience. I’m really elated that we are making a difference to their lives. Keep up the good work, and we will continue our utmost support.”

“ Thank you for the invitation. It was a good networking session for us. I’m impressed by your students for being able to share and relate their experiences despite only one week of job shadowing. The students are also lucky to have your support in the programme. Thanks again and I hope this will be a win-win collaboration for more students and companies in the coming years.”
