Student Reflections

Seeing a skilled and experienced cartoonist making a comic is really cool and gives me more knowledge about how comics are generally made. I liked how his drawings are simple and easy to understand. As for the exhibition, I liked looking at the posters with different comics coming from different parts of the world and it was very fun. Some of the posters’ drawings were really good and it was overall an interesting and good experience especially that some of them were what I used to watch or know about.

It was interesting to hear from an actual cartoonist about his steps on how to make a cartoon. I never knew there was a specific way to come up with a cartoon, and a lot of work goes into it, even if it is just four panels. I’m glad we had an opportunity to learn about cartoons – something we are not exactly exposed to. This opens up a new door for many people who are interested in drawing cartoons. I realized how difficult it is to come up with a creative storyline, and how much skill and experience it takes.
